Refresh

Been meaning to start writing online in a blog format again. It’s officially been a little over two months since moving downtown Toronto, starting my contract position at SapientRazorfish as a UX designer and finally touching my personal website again. I think it’s about due time for a refresh on here — starting with this self reflective blog series, 1:1.

Really want to do my best to keep up to date on my website (and occasionally on Medium) and start sharing some of my work and personal growth experiences more consistently. I’m titling this series of posts 1:1 as it’s a similar format I enjoy using at work when I have my bi-weekly 1:1 meetings with my design manager to track my progress and goals.

October goals

  1. [] Update my portfolio with new work

  2. [✓] Re-visit some old projects

  3. [✓] Make a habit of writing down any valuable takeaways from conversations on a post it note

  4. [ ] Explore simple motion design to enhance designs for an upcoming work project

  5. [ ] Write about my past trip to San Francisco

  6. [✓] Explore new typography and layout styles for my updated resume

  7. [✓] Make fresh new playlists for work and running

  8. [] Run the Toronto Scotiabank Waterfront 5k

I feel documenting these goals might help keep myself accountable when I write a post the following month with the previous months goals linked to some proof of accomplishment.

First goal off the list — updated my portfolio with some new work! Though not the most visually appealing with any UI screens to dissect, but I’ve written some highlights about my position so far as a contractor at SR_ and explored a new page layout. Hoping to re-visit some old projects soon and redo the structure of how I’ve organized and communicated my work.
